A Few Items and Happy Valentine

The first of my Easter eggs has seen the light.

The girls on the photo are my mother Molly born in 1911 and her sister Gertrud born in 1912.

I have been tiding up in drawers and cupboards. And look what I found!

It made me rearrange a little in the kitchen. Nothing big but still satisfying.

Reportage i italienskt magasin

Så har då jag blivit kontaktad av ett italienskt inredningsmagasin som heter Lotuspublishing.www.lotuspublishing.it De har ganska många magasin som de ger ut och jag vet inte vilket bilderna från mitt hem kommer i.

Inte går de att köpa här i Sverige heller. Jag hoppas på att de skickar mig ett ex. när det beger sig, så att jag i alla fall kan skanna det hela.

Bilderna är bara på några av deras tidningar. Sex ges ut i Italien och två i Frankrike.

Detta ska bli oerhört spännande.

A woman called Manuela contacted me on e-mail and wanted pictures from my home and my handicraft. She also wanted a small text to go in one of their magazines. The pictures above show three of their editions in Italy. Of totally six.

Two are published in France as well. This magazine is not available in Sweden. Therefore I hope they will send me a copy to scan for you. If you want to go there click HERE

Springy Twigs

Who doesn't long for Spring?

At least I do. Therefore I cut a few twigs from my neighbours magnolia and put them in some water.

And there you are... After a couple of days theylook like this. Beautiful and springy.

The camera was busy doing other things as well. Like taking photos of this little cushion inside the crown.

Isn't she sweet this little girl made by Marijke?!

The Chinese ladies' shoes I have showed before but here they are inside the net. My grandmother's sister was a missionary in China at the beginning of 19hundred or so. She brought them home and later gave them to me.They are for shortened feet, of course. You are still able to see the blood inside them!

Hyndrangea is a beautiful flower to decorate with. Especially this red-brown colour.

At last my homemade key cupboard with Lilian Gish on the front.

Vit jul på mitt sätt- Vit amaryllis blommar vackert i sovrumsfönstret.

Vit avdentsljusstake. Fortsatt otänd eftersom jag har vissa fobier med att tända levande eld.

Luciadagen

Jag önskar er alla en trevlig Lucia.

Inte för att jag sett skymten av en enda Lucia. Inte ens på TV. Kanske förklaringen i det ligger i att jag inte har någon TV..... :-)

In Scandinavia this Lucia day is big celebrated. She knocks on your door very early in the morning, bringing her gang with Star Boys and young Lucia maids. They sing the Lucia songs and bring you coffee and Lussekatter. (They are buns with saffron) Delicious.

Transformerat hem plus lite julpynt

Min adventsstake . Av en viss anledning, som jag kommer till längre fram, tränker jag icke tända någon som helst levande eld här hemma.

Mitt nya kök. Det nya är det vitmålade taket.

Vardagrum med vitt tak och allt nytvättat.

Öppna spisen som också den kommer att stå oeldad ett tag framöver.

Sparsamt med julpynt i år. Minimalistisk jul gäller här.

Tomten har kommit.

Gamla kransar blir som nya.

Advent! Utan ljus!

Omplacerad krukväxt. Hjärtan på tråd. Liksom mitt hjärta :-)

Den här lille trätomten fanns i mitt barndomshem ända sedan jag var riktigt liten i början av fyrtiotalet.

Lite rött m,åste man ha till jul. Men inte för mycket.

Växter lyser upp vintermörkret.

Lite kreativ har jag varit till slut. Tryckt ut egendesignade kort och satt i ram.

Varför är det transformerat, tvättat och renoverat i mitt hem?? Det kommer sig av att jag vaknade en morgon, för fjorton dagar sedan av att det brann! Hu så hemskt! Och, det är en ganska lång historia som trots allt slutade någorlunda bra. Allt! är tvättat i mitt hus. Alla kläder, alla textilier, alla väggar, allt porslin, allt, allt, allt,....... Taken gick inte att tvätta därför blev de vitmålade. Inte alls fel!

Nu har jag flyttat in igen efter fjorton dagar hos en väninna längre ner på samma gata.

Nu återstår "endast" att packa upp alla lådor och påsar för att placera ut prylarna igen. Så här rent har det aldrig varit i detta hus.

To try to write this in English I will first tell you, that a fortnight ago I had a fire in the house. While the people cleaned it all I had to move out. It was possible for me to go and live with a friend further down the street. . Which was very good, indeed.

Everything was thoroughly cleaned. And I mean everything! The cealings weren't possible to clean instead they were white painted. Happy ending in a way.

What you see on my pictures today are the cealings and som Christmas decorations. Hope you enjoy it.

Den här Irländska/Amerikanska seden brukar jag inte bry mig om, eftersom den inte har det minsta med oss att göra. Men tre saker saker sätter jag fram i dag, trots det. För att fira höstens intåg.

Tidig julklapp

I veckan knackade det på dörren och utanför stod brevbäraren med ett stort, rosa paket som han överlämnade till mig. Det var en present från Marijke i Holland för att jag hjälper henne med lite bilder.

Lådan vart sprängfylld med "godsaker"; spetsar, band, kort, små kuddar, dockskor och mycket, mycket mer. Här är lite av det hon skickade mig. Ska be att få återkomma med andra bilder längre fram.

The postman brought me a big, pink parcel last Wednesday. This was a gift from my friend Marijke in Holland. Why? Because I am helping her with some pictures. A few things you can see on the pictures above.
I felt like it was Christmas when I unwrapped the many items she had sent me. Wonderful! And thank you Marijke.
